Shwetali Sawant is the Independent Candidate for Point Cook in the upcoming Victorian State Elections
Shwetali is the founder of a Social Enterprise that empowers small businesses to thrive. She has helped more than 1000 businesses to be sustainable & achieve economic benefit individually whilst showcasing their unique ideas.
Shwetali’s top priorities are:
Wellbeing of the community - physical & mental health
- Point Cook Indoor Sports Stadium - $15m for 1st phase
- Western Aquatic Centre & Early Years Centre - $40m, ready by 2026
- Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre - $5.5m
Culture – cohesive community
- Build a Cultural Centre for people representing 146 countries in Point Cook to enable celebrating their heritage
Infrastructure – standard of living
- Reduce congestion – Flexi App and Wynbus (on demand, door to door service). Purchase of new buses to improve buses routes, frequency, connectivity to other buses & trains
Women and families – provide supportive environment
- Relieve pressure for Domestic violence victims returning to work, state to pay their taxes for 3 years
- Parent returning to work after a break and earning less than 100k annually, state to pay their taxes for 1 year
Education – future generations
- Providing more engagement for the youth with more Secondary schools with different curriculums to cater to different interests
Shwetali is also a committee member for 2 not for profits and City Design Portfolio Committee of Wyndham Council.
Shwetali Sawant is a wife, mother, passionate Social Entrepreneur and have Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University in New York.
